It is always hard to choose the top skaters today, and it is far more complicated to choose the best professional skateboarders of all time. Therefore, this list is certainly not a parameter in any way, it is just a personal observation according to the success made by following individuals.
#10 Elissa Steamer
This list deserved to have at least one woman on the list, and there is no better female skater than Elissa Steamer. She was born in F.T. Meyers, Florida in 1975 and she was the first woman to get professional status in skateboarding history. Her success proved that skateboarding is not only men´s sport, and was crucial for other female skaters as well. In her career Elissa won numerous X Games medals and accomplishments.
#9 Rob Dyrdek
Dyrdek was born in Kettering, Ohio in 1974. He first took interest in skateboarding at the age of 11 when he got his first skateboard by pro skater Neil Blender. Dyrdek deserves to be on the list primarily because of his incredible world records – 21 record in fact, which is absolutely stunning. Besides he had an outstanding career on and off the board, and even today is one of the most famous skaters around the world.
#8 Ryan Sheckler
Ryan Sheckler was born in La Palma, California in 1989. He is one of the skaters who really started at an early age. By the age of 4, he was able to do ollies and balance, which inspired his father to build him a mini-ramp in the backyard when Ryan was just 7. From that moment Ryan began skateboarding every day and six years later he turned pro. Even though he has many bright years in front of him, he has been around for years now. All these things lead him to be one of the most famous skateboarding stars in the last decade. Therefore, Sheckler definitely deserves to be on the list of best pro skateboarders of all time.
#7 Chris Cole
Chris Cole was born in Langhorne, Pennsylvania in March 1982. His skateboarding journey started when he was 8 years old. Cole turned pro in 2000, and today is a skateboarding veteran which still rides. He is extremely popular for his technical flat ground skating. Through his long career Cole certainly left the mark on the skateboarding industry. He also won numerous awards and accomplishments which prove that he is worthy of being on the list.
#6 Paul Rodriguez
Paul Rodriguez was born in Tarzana, California in 1984. His popular nickname P-Rod stuck from school, when he was 11. He got his first skateboard as a Christmas gift when he was 12, because he was fascinated by the sport he saw at the new school. After that he started to practice every day and fascinate people around him with every trick. Rodriguez in his career won a staggering eight X Games medals as well as many other competitions which helped him to secure his place in our top 10.
#5 Nyjah Huston
Houston was born in Malibu, California in 1994 and raised in San Lorenzo, Puerto Rico. He started skating at the age of 4 with the help of his father. Even though he has many years in front of him, Houston Huston has already a large number of awards and wins and for that reason deserves to be on this list. At the age of 21 he earned more prize money than any other skateboarder in history. By now, he won street league several times and has a number of X Games medals to his name.
#4 Danny Way
Danny was born in Portland, Oregon in 1974. He is extremely popular because of his extreme and fascinating skateboarding stunts. Furthermore, he is recognized for pioneering mega-ramps. Besides, he also won several X Games gold medals. Danny Way was also chosen as the skater of the year twice and made a name for himself performing incredible tricks.
#3 Bob Burnquist
Bob Burnquist was born in Rio de Janerio in 1976. He began skateboarding at the age of 11 and only three years later, at the age of 14 he became pro. In addition, he also became the first skateboarder in history to land the fakie 900, which was done by only five people by now. Besides, Burnquist has appeared in every single X Games and won a total of 26 medals. His incredible resume established his status as one of the top of the list of best skateboarders of all time.
#2 Tony Hawk
Everybody knows about Tony Hawk! He was born in Las Angeles, California in 1968. Tony Hawk is best known for performing the first 900 ever documented. Besides, Hawk is also famous because of his video game series. During the early age, young Hawk demonstrated his skills and energy. Further, he became a pro at the age of 14 and since then he made great success, such as being the National Skateboard Association World Champion for twelve years in a row. His popularity in the late 90's and early 2000's was something never seen before in skateboarding. He lead skateboarding from underground culture to popular phenomenon thanks to his recognizable skills and name he created during that period.
#1 Rodney Mullen
Rodney was born in Gainesville, Florida in 1966 and began skateboarding when he was only 10 years old, after a friend from neighbourhood introduced him to this extreme sport. After that, he started practicing in the garage of his family home trying to perfect his skills. That same garage became a place where many of today´s popular stunts and tricks were created. This means that he created tricks like the ollie, kickflip, heelflip and many others. His technical performance and attention he pays to the details set him on a level above other skaters. It is a very tight battle on the top, and even though Tony Hawk is the name and the face of skateboarding, because of his incredible technical moves, Rodney Mullen deserves to be the number one on our list.
